There's a sign in Victoria train station in London which says "no sleeping overnight on this concourse".
I think it might be new. But at any rate it does make me wonder how they gauge it.
Do they do the old car park trick and rub a piece of chalk on the most obvious point of contact with the floor and tehn come back a couple of hours later and see if it's move? And it it's that way then what happens if you're a restless sleeper? I'm very stationary that should be encouraged in a station not discriminated against.
And even if they do use more scientific methods. At what point do they decide that your purpose has changed from a brief snooze into an overnight stay? Or do they wait to see if you have stayed overnight and then fine you for your stay? And is the fine smaller than local hotel accommodation? I think we should be told. All the answers to these questions on every sign they pin up for here on in - it's the future.
